Student Competition to bring Google Fiber to Grand Rapids
The leading community organizers for bringing Google Fiber to Grand Rapids have a competition for students of high schools and colleges in Grand Rapids. The competition is for students only!
Help Bring Google to Grand Rapids. Two contest winners, one high school and one college will be awarded a “GR Google Spirit” trophy from the City of Grand Rapids Mayor Heartwell.
Open to all Public, Private and Charter High Schools & Public or Private Colleges or Universities in the Greater Grand Rapids area.
The Rules!  - Any student or student organization can sign up.
- Only one sign up per school so be the first!
- Nomination from a student or student organization will have a sub-page for the project on the inthe616.com website.
- The sub-page will have information about the project provided on the nomination form.
- Create group web page using only Google products.
- Only use Google technology to build our project.
- Facebook and Twitter should be used to direct attention to your Google project.
- Projects must include data collection of confirmation codes from their peers for nominating Grand Rapids for Google fiber (collect only codes, no names or identifying emails).
- Students are encouraged to be creative in using Google technology and its importance; think of this as a blend of creativity using Google applications.
Scoring! - How many student nominations were collected?
- How many Google products were incorporated in the project?
- How many students are actively involved in the project?
- Project innovation.
- Creativity!
The Prize! The winning High School and College teams will be awarded a “GR Google Spirit” Trophy from the City of Grand Rapids.
